Rust: The Best Rust Conferences, 2023
Where to go and Mingle with Rust Programmers and Enthusiasts
I found Rust four years ago when I was mostly interested in blockchain technologies. While I lived in Portland the Rust Conference was held there, and I think it was based there for about four years. That conference has moved to New Mexico now. But you can still do the virtual version of the conference.
I actually did not go to the conference the first year. I went to a Solana meetup and learned what they were doing with Rust. That really caught my attention.
So here is the list of upcoming Rust conferences for 2023.

Rust Global, 2023
Takes place in Bellevue Washington not far from the Microsoft campus. Rust Foundation is supporting Rust Global, in its inaugural event devoted to stimulating knowledge and dialogue among global business executives and proponents of the Rust programming language. This two-day event, which will be co-hosted by WasmCon, will provide networking opportunities and provide educational content about Rust’s future and its importance to organizations, educators, government entities, and software developers around the world.
As the conference is part of WasmCon you need to register for WasmCon first and then add Rust Global as an additional session.
Dates: September 6th, 2023
Cost for WasmCon: $199 and up.
To add Rust Global it is an additional $15
Rust Conf
The largest and probably the best Rust conference going. It had been for years stationed in Portland Oregon but has this year moved to Albuquerque New Mexico. Good change? I went to this conference several times when it was based in Portland as I am just up the road in Seattle.
At this conference you will meet the most diverse group of programmers around. And also the most inciteful users of the Rust programming languages.
This conference offers Discord channels for discussion, talks and trainings
Dates: September 12–15, 2023
Online and in person options. As well as student rates for attendance.
Cost: $249 — $399, in person
- or $399 for virtual company paying.And student cost is $10
EuroRust
Covering all things Rust in one place. They cover Wasm, embedded Rust, servers, and many case studies will be covered too.
They list only two workshops listed, but both seem to be good topics. The first is on Rust for web developers, and telemetry for Rust APIs.
Takes place in Brussels in October of 2023.
Cost: 350 Euros per workshop, and 40–80 Euros for remote attendees.
Tokyo Rust
Happening late October 2023.
Online there is not a lot of information about this conference. There should be at least one conference based in Asia on this list. More information to come.
